How does Faunalytics support the vegan movement (and specifically vegan business owners)? Our original research program prioritizes study topics that have the potential to impact many animals. Therefore, a significant portion of our projects focus on farmed animal issues and veganism. Faunalytics’ comprehensive Research Library houses over 4,600 study summaries to help animal advocates work as effectively as possible. Faunalytics’ Research Library and visual content is curated and created by our Content Director, Karol Orzechowski. We help the animal protection movement save lives and reduce suffering by providing unique, data-driven insight into what it takes to craft programs and strategies that create positive change for animals.

We offer assistance and guidance on research design, strategy, and data-driven advocacy. Our landmark study Beliefs About Chickens and Fish & Their Relation to Animal-Positive Behaviors uncovered what the U.S. thinks about these animals and whether people are willing to protect them. Therefore, incremental advocacy focused on commonly held beliefs may be the most effective strategy. Our ground-breaking Animal Product Impact Scales identified the animal-derived food items that cause the most farmed animal suffering and death in order to feed the U.S. each day. The numbers are truly staggering and reveal which food formats should be prioritized by alternative protein companies and avoided by consumers to make the biggest impact for farmed animals.
How do you create or revise your strategic plan? Who is involved and how are decisions are made?
We’re pleased to share that Sarah Hanneken, Legal Advocacy Counsel at Animal Equality, and Steve Schuster, CEO of Rainier Communications, now add to the wealth of experience our Board of Directors brings to Faunalytics. https://www.bookstime.com/ Performance indicators like lives saved or animals adopted are straightforward enough, but what if your work is indirect? Since the impact of our services is indirect, impact measurement is a little more challenging.

Animal Advocate Profile: Brooke Haggerty Executive Director at Faunalytics
The last time we talked, I think we estimated roughly two-thirds of our work went to farmed animals specifically. We took ACE’s feedback in the last couple of reviews and we are being increasingly selective with the topics that we choose. Right now, about two-thirds brooke haggerty of our library summaries are related specifically to farmed animals or effective animal advocacy. 100% of our independent studies are focused on either farmed animals or what we consider meta topics like increasing capacity, donations, or volunteers.

- She has an MA in Human Behavior, a BA in English, and certifications in Marketing and Nonprofit Management.
- The needs of an organization and its individual team members can often conflict, there are several stakeholders that you answer to, the buck stops with you, and it can just be a lot for one person.
- By directly supporting hundreds of organizations in our movement, we help advocates apply data to their campaigns and strategies.
- If you’re reading this and wondering how our (free) research and resources can help your activism, please get in touch!
- For starters our team transformed our SMART goals into SMARTIE goals, reviewed and updated our policies, and began making a stronger effort to circulate research that addresses fundamental inequalities within animal protection.
- I don’t necessarily think leaders are “born” vs “made,” but I do think that people will see the potential leader in you.
- Animal rights activism introduced Andrea to different social justice movements and the principles of collective liberation.
